For Competitors

We welcome competitive paddlers from juniors through to open and masters age groups to come down and train with us and see what we offer.

On the water, GCOCC has teams competing in OC6, OC1/2 and V1 events across sprint and marathon distances and up to World Championship level. And we are very competitive at national level, recently winning the 2019 National Marathon Club Championship held in Port Macquarie along with numerous other prestigious competitions.

Events and Regattas

Our club competes in the Southern Queensland Zone, and national and international events each year, with key events targeted at the start of each paddling season. We support the AOCRA racing calendar and host events each year in both sprint and marathon formats. Senior paddlers are catered for with weekly training sessions organised around the AOCRA calendar and specific training for crews depending on upcoming events. See the Training and Competition page for more details on regattas. See our JUNIORS page for relevant information on competitive paddling for juniors under 19 years.

Before competing with us you must be a full financial member of the club. Check our Membership page for details on how to join.

Visiting Paddlers

Visiting paddlers from Australia and overseas are more than welcome – attendance is at the Head Coach’s discretion so let us know you’re coming. You must be covered by AOCRA insurance if Australian. If you’re not an AOCRA member, then a waiver form must be signed before hitting the water – so CONTACT US first.
